I feel that Steve doesn't really dislike Ponyboy, but he just wants to be alone with Sodapop.He might feel that Ponyboy is taking his spot. It is possible that Steve is jealous of Ponyboy being so special to Sodapop. Steve doesn't understand that he is very special to Sodapop, too. I think that if Steve knew this he would be friendlier to Ponyboy.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Kate F. I think that Steve doesn't want Ponyboy to come with him because they were limited on what time they come home and where they go.
