In the beginning of the book when I heard about Johnny's situation, I thought that he would always be frightened easily and not be outgoing. I was surprised near the end of chapter 4 when Johnny steps out of his shell, and stands up to people, such as Dally. I was most shocked when he stabbed the soc. I knew that Johnny was becoming more outgoing and courageous, but I didn't expect him to murder someone. Also, in the beginning of the book Ponyboy is the one comforting Johnny, but by the end of chapter 4, Johnny is the one comforting Ponyboy.
Durning Johnny's stay at the hospital Johnny's parents were notified that he was there they just waited a while to come, in the book Johnny's mother came in and wanted to see him, Johnny got very upset. He didn't want his mother there. TO ME i think having your mother or father around is comforting but to johnny it hurt him because his parents were creul to him. His mom ignored him and his dad was creul to him i understand his feelings about it but u cant shove ur FAMILY out NO MATTER HOW CREUL THEY ARE. That part of the book made me cry a little because there should be a bond between the mother and child but his mom had no bond with him, his bond was with his gang. The only visiters he wanted was his gang. Johnny is a brave and heartstrong person i wish i had those personalities. Johnny had more than 2 personalities they were sad, hurt, anger, soothing, calm, scared and so on and so on. Johnny was very important to the gang, he was the one that kept them from fighting. This is some things about Johnny.
