its funny how much people change (personality wise) when angered or trying to get revenge. when Johnny told Ponyboy that he killed that Soc, i was shocked! the book made johnny out to be a sweet kid that could never harm a fly, but i guess when he saw that Soc who had had beat him up before, anger took hold of him and he killed the guy. -Maya
I agree with maya. It was really weird to see his shy, fly on the wall way turn. He went from being the quiet. To the one killing a guy and and becoming an hero. I think he was my favorite character. He showed that he was tired of it and that he wasn't gonna let them kill his friend. I guess that was his way of sloving the problem. I wouldn't have solved it that way ,but he was getting stressed and that was the way he saw solving a problem.
It was so sad when Johnny died!!! Usually, the author of a book will never kill off characters like Jonnhy. That is what I like about this author. I'm not saying that I liked it when Jonnhy died, I just like it when you never know what is going to happen because the author isn't scared to write anything sad.It's still so sad that he dies! But, he probably would have turned out like Dally with his parents not loving him and everything.
