I believe that Darry is very protective of his brothers. Ever since there parents died i think its been the hardest for him. He cant go and have fun he has to worry and make sure there ok. Then I believe that having the socs not like the greasers and them being greasers it makes it even worse. It makes it worse because he has to keep close watch on them because the socs cauld attack at any time. He also has keep his life as he wants and two other people.
I think that Darry is ornery towards Ponyboy because Darry and Soda were forced to work after their parents died, and Ponyboy is the only one who has a chance of going to college. I also think that Darry is upset a lot of the time because he 's too young to have to work all the time and support a family. Darry isn't even really a grease, he just fights with them when there's a rumble.
If Darry went to college, he wouldn't be a greaser. He doesn't really even act like one. He used to hang out with some of the socs. After the deaths of Johnny and Dally, Darry and Ponyboy fight more often. This really tears Sodapop apart because he is in the middle of all of this. He runs off one time while Darry and Ponyboy are fighting. He tells Darry and Ponyboy that it is tearing him apart, and Darry and Ponyboy promise to stop fighting. By the end of the book, Darry and Ponyboy become a lot closer and nicer to eachother.
What ponyboy said about the only thing standing in darry's way from becoming a soc is his 2 brothers was that true??
....... Darry was very protective for his brothers that is why he yelled at ponyboy so much he just really cared about him ..if u dont under stand what i just wrote think about it he was always scared for his brothers and his only way to show it was anger he didn't really know how to show saddness(it may seem weird but that is what i observed from the book)
I think Darry is a working teenager forced to be a fatherly figure. He is protective of his brothers and gets mad when they misbehave because he thinks it his fault. He thinks he's not doing well enough.
I think Darry showed real loyalty to his brothers and the greasers when he went ahead and faught his old friend in the rumble. Because I think he was sort of embarrassed to be seen with the greasers because he real isn't one. However, a lot of things had changed since high school, and maybe they were both different people.
I don't understand why Darry lets his brothers get all caught up in this gang mess. I also don't understand why Darry gets more mad at ponyboy even though Soda seems to mess up more than Ponyboy. Why does he do this?
I think Darry treats Soda better than Ponyboy when it comes down to something.Darry cares more enough about Soda than he do to Ponyboy. Why is Soda more important to Darry than Ponyboy?
I don't think that Ponyboy is less important to Darry than Sodapop. I think that Soda is older and more responsible. Sometimes he uses his head better than Ponyboy. I think that Ponyboy just needs help understanding things and Darry gets annoyed because of that. I also think Darry takes his anger out on Ponyboy with out realizing it.
