I think it was really sad when he died especially. When Ponyboy said that he wanted to die so he could be with johnny! I busted in tears. I thought that johnny and dally was meant to be with his friend. I think it was just something that clicked. the thing that clicked is that out of every thing and everyone, he loved Johnny.
Katie,he helped them escape because he didn't want them to turn into him. After he went to jail so many times, he turned into a person that didn't care and couldn't find good in the world. He really, really didn't want them to turn out wrong. Caleb, I agree with you too, Johnny was the only person or thing that Dally cared aboout.
Dally is really depressed when Johnny died. I think when Johnny was in the hospital Dally wasn't the same. He seemed like all he thought about was somthing happening to Johnny while he was in the hospital. Since Dally really cared about Johnny he never stopped thinking about him.
I agree. I think that it also lead to Dally robbing that store and summarily getting shot by the police. He got all angry and depressed and took it out on that store owner.
Johnny was like family to Dally. He didn't want to show, but I think he cared about him. When he saw him in the hospital and when he died he lost it. He wanted the cops to chase him and shoot because you couldn't take it any more.
why did dally help ponyboy and johnny during their escape from the police?
